ABOUT MATTMEUP MATTE PASTE
How to use MattMeUp Matte Paste
Start with dry or slightly damp hair
MattMeUp works best when your hair is clean. Dry hair gives a stronger hold. Damp hair gives a softer, more natural finish.
1. Scoop a small amount. Use a pea-sized amount to start. You can always add more if needed.
2. Warm it up. Rub the paste between your palms until it softens and spreads evenly.
3. Apply evenly. Work it through your hair from back to front, focusing on the roots for lift and control.
4. Style your way. Use your fingers for a natural, textured look or a comb for a cleaner shape.
5. Adjust and go. Add a tiny bit more if needed. The finish stays matte and flexible all day.
Ingredients & Size
Aqua
Water. The base that makes the product easy to spread.
Ceteareth-25
A mixer. Helps oil and water work together so the paste stays smooth and creamy.
Oleth-4
Another blender. Helps the product glide through hair without clumping.
Bentonite
Natural clay. Absorbs oil, adds texture, and gives that dry matte look with thicker-looking hair.
Artificial Beeswax
Hold and control. Keeps your style in place while staying flexible.
Ozokerite
Hard wax. Boosts hold and structure so styles last longer.
Glycerine
Moisture support. Helps hair stay hydrated and not dry or brittle.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is MattMeUp Paste easy to wash out?
Yes. MattMeUp Paste is easy to wash out.
It is water based, so it rinses away with warm water and a normal shampoo. There is no heavy grease, waxy buildup, or residue left behind. One wash is usually enough, even with daily use.
Your hair feels clean after washing, not coated or dry.
How much MattMeUp should I use?
Start small.
Use a pea-sized amount for short to medium hair. That is usually enough to get control and texture.
If you have thicker or longer hair, add a little more gradually. It is better to build up than to use too much at once.
Too much product can make hair feel heavy. A small amount gives the best matte finish and natural hold.
Can it be used on all hair types?
Yes, Bull Blaster can be used on most hair types, but it is not ideal for Afro-Caribbean hair.
It works best on straight to wavy hair and on fine to medium textures, where it adds volume, grip, and natural movement.
On very coily or tightly textured hair, salt sprays can feel drying and may reduce definition. For those hair types, a curl cream or moisture-focused styler is a better choice.
How long will a jar of MattMeUp last?
How long a jar lasts depends on how often you use it and how much you put in each time.
But as a simple guide:
- If you use it daily with a small amount (pea-sized): about 6–8 weeks.
- If you use it less often (every few days): 8–12+ weeks.
Most people find one jar lasts around 2 months with regular use.
Is MattMeUp rain, wind, and sweat proof?
MattMeUp Paste gives good everyday hold, but here’s how it works in real life:
Rain:
It won’t melt straight away in a drizzle, but heavy rain can soften the style. It’s not fully waterproof.
Wind:
It helps keep shape against moderate wind. Strong gusts might loosen texture, but it generally holds through breezy conditions.
Sweat:
Light sweat is fine. In heavy sweat (workout, hot day), it can loosen and lose grip because it’s water-based.
Bottom line:
MattMeUp performs well for normal daily activity, but it isn’t fully weatherproof like strong gels or sprays designed for sport. It’s best for casual wear, everyday use, and normal conditions.
What’s the difference between MattMeUp and other matte pastes on the market?
Texture and Finish
MattMeUp:
- Strong matte, very low shine
- Natural texture that gives hair a lived-in look
Other matte pastes often vary between too shiny, too flat, or overly heavy depending on formula.
Hold
MattMeUp:
- Medium to strong hold that keeps shape all day
- Flexible feel so hair still moves naturally
Some competitors either have weak hold that doesn’t last, or very stiff hold that feels crunchy.
Washability
MattMeUp:
- Water-based, so rinses out easily with regular shampoo
- Leaves little to no residue
Waxy or oil-heavy pastes on the market can be harder to wash out and can build up over time.
Texture and Volume
MattMeUp:
- Bentonite clay adds grip, body, and thickness
- Works well for casual, messy, or textured styles
Other formulas may rely more on synthetic ingredients that can flatten or weigh hair down.
Everyday Use
MattMeUp:
- Designed for daily wear in normal conditions
- Not overly dramatic or extreme in finish
Some pastes are very strong and more suited to sculpted or formal styles, not everyday casual looks.
In short, MattMeUp aims to balance natural matte finish, reliable hold, easy washout, and everyday versatility, compared with other matte pastes that may emphasize one trait at the expense of others.
